Venture Scientist 100: Explore the Founder Path

Last chance: could your research become a company?

Conception X Venture Scientist 100: Explore the Founder Path (Online) Dec 1

What it is

The final online introduction to Venture Scientist 100 (VS100) before 2027 applications close. VS100 is Conception X’s fellowship for researchers who want to explore commercialising their science, whether you’re just curious or already building a venture.

VS100 is designed to fit alongside your academic work. It covers idea generation, customer discovery, pitch development and fundraising strategy, with deeptech-specific training, one-to-one coaching and mentoring, a community of science founders, and introductions to early-stage investors. Fellows can secure up to £300k in funding through partners XTX Ventures and the Conception X Angel Syndicate.

Want a feel for it first? Watch this short video of this year’s venture scientists talking about their experience. When you’re ready, start your application and submit it by Sunday 6 December 2026.

What you’ll get from the session

  • An overview of VS100, who it’s for, and how it compares with Conception X’s Raise programme
  • Insights from alumni who launched companies from their academic work
  • A step-by-step walkthrough of the application process
  • A live Q&A with Programme Manager Polly Groves

The session will be recorded. Registration needs host approval, so request to join early.

New for 2027
