From the 18th - 24th November this year, people all around the world will be celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week - an initiative that has helped to unleash new ideas and promote the start and scaleup of new businesses. As always, we have a jam-packed week of activities for you to get involved in to help you begin your very own entrepreneurial journey. Take a look at the highlights below, including events from EnSpire as well as the wider Oxford ecosystem. If you can't attend any of the events during the week itself, don't worry, there are plenty of entrepreneurial opportunities to sign up to through Michaelmas term and beyond - make sure to look at our What's On website calendar to get info on all upcoming event.

The final Building a Business session kicks off the week on 18th November, with a lecture on 'Funding your journey'. If you haven't managed to attend the other lectures make sure you make space in your calendar for this session, as we delve into the various routes of funding available and discuss which options are best suited to your business needs.

The Future Leaders Innovation Programme (FLIP) application deadline lands on 18th November - the perfect programme available to students at the University looking to gain skills, knowledge, and positive behaviours to innovate and drive change in the future. This course leads to an ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management so make sure to get your application in.

The OxLEP West Oxfordshire Business Accelerator are holding an online workshop in Leadership Development on 19th November. This programme offers a bespoke package of enhanced and accelerated support for established and trading small businesses in the district.

Join EnSpire on 20th November along with members of Oxford University Innovation and the Careers Service for an Understanding Intellectual Property (IP) online session. Open to all University of Oxford members, this session will take you through the University's policy on IP and what to do if you think you have created it. There will be a live presentation followed by a Q&A - one not to miss!

Join Oxford Entrepreneurs for their Startup Careers Fair on 20th November, an amazing way to connect with talented students from different departments and degrees. If you are running an exciting startup, an accelerator program or an organisation active in the entrepreneurial space and are looking for employees from UK's (obviously 😉) best university, this event is for you!

Join the BIPC for their popular Startup Huddle networking event on 21st November, designed to help one entrepreneur at a time while strengthening the local Oxfordshire ecosystem - with 1 or 2 preselected start-ups presenting their business followed by QA and plenty of time for networking.

Indie Oxford Christmas MarketFinish off the week by visiting the Independent Oxford Christmas market on 23rd November. This great initiative supports and champions independent and small businesses in the Oxford area through events such as this. Get festive and join them in celebrating Oxford's incredible local indie businesses.

All-Innovate 2024 winner

Can't attend any of the events this week? Don't panic! You can still get involved in the entrepreneurial celebrations by applying to the All-Innovate idea competition - just make sure to get your application in before December 4th. All-Innovate is a great programme to get involved in, even if you have no experience in entrepreneurship. You'll be able to work on a business idea, gain entrepreneurial training, practice your pitch and apply for funding to test your idea further.
